The combined influence of Langan's (French) and Joe Allen (American) was central to the inspiration behind Le Caprice. With its contemporary black and white décor; David Bailey photographs and long bar, Corbin and King were keen to break the mould of established restaurants and offer a flexibility of style and cost in the menu but with a high level of quality and service. Since Le Caprice opened it has probably influenced more restaurants in London than any other and attracted an appropriately cosmopolitan clientele.
