The Gilbert Collection of Decorative Arts is housed in the newly-opened Somerset House, alongside the Courtauld Gallery and Hermitage Rooms. Donated by Sir Arthur Gilbert, the Collection includes over 220 gold snuff boxes, 300 pieces of fine silver dating from between the 16th and 19th century and fine italian micromosaics and minatures. Highlights of the collection are six jewelled gold snuff-boxes, once belonging to Fredrick the Great of Prussia.
